Pretty Pumpkin Rolls
No fall feast is complete without pumpkin, and these delicious rolls are an unexpected way to add a touch of seasonal flavor to any meal. Serve them at your next Halloween gathering or seasonal soiree!
Serves 8
Ingredients:
- 1½ tsp. dry yeast
- ⅓ c. plus 1½ tbsp. lukewarm water
- 10.6 oz. pumpkin puree
- 3¾ c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 1½ tsp. salt
- Pecans, halved

Instructions:
- Dissolve the yeast in the water.
- In a stand mixer with a hook attachment, add the water-yeast mixture, pumpkin puree, and flour. Once combined, add the oil and salt, and continue to mix until soft and smooth (about 10–15 minutes).
- Form the dough into a ball, and cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Set it aside to rise for about an hour.
- Shape the dough into nine smaller balls. Tightly wrap a piece of kitchen string several times around each to form grooved lines that resemble a pumpkin.
- Place the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and allow them to rise slightly for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 355°F. Then bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove the rolls from the oven. While still warm, press a pecan half into the top of each roll to resemble a stem. Let cool a bit, and serve.
